Come build your very own cedar bat box using real hand tools! This active, hands-on workshop is designed just for kids ages 8 to 12. To keep things safe and fun, all the wood pieces are pre-cut and the screw holes are pre-drilled before class. Kids will focus on using hand tools to roughen up the inside wood so bats can easily climb it, gluing and screwing the pieces together with standard screwdrivers, and painting the outside. Along the way, we will learn cool facts about how helpful bats are to our backyard environments. Parental assistance welcomed and encouraged.
